A fabulous Sunday morning walk with Chamila on stage one of the Pekoe Trail, enjoying beautiful weather and stunning scenery. Chamila’s knowledge of the area is outstanding and he expertly explained the life and history of the tea plantation. Chamila pointed out some of the many herbs and spices that can be found in the Sri Lankan countryside, including cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, chillis, jack fruit, bread fruit, a coffee bush (yes, in a tea plantation), and unforgettably, fresh Leopard poo!! :) The devastating effect of the recent cyclone and the impact on the communities was clear to see, upsetting at times but the resilience of the Sri Lankan people is quite remarkable and inspiring. Chamila is a knowledgeable, charming and personable guide, good fun to be with and we have no hesitation in recommending him and look forward to meeting him again on our next visit to Sri Lanka. My friends and I used Chamila’s services on stage 4 of the Pekoe trail. The Pekoe trail app that we usually rely on didn’t work and there were several areas where the trail signage was absent so Chamila’s presence proved a God send. He has an extensive knowledge on flora and fauna and his passion is evident when he speaks. He is an extremely pleasant and a hospitable young man who I wholeheartedly recommend as a guide especially on the Pekoe Trail.  I shall certainly use his services on the rest of trail.

It was a delightful experience trekking with Chamila. He curated a wonderful experience for us at Knuckles forest reserve, ensuring that we saw some stunning views of the landscape. We had a wonderful morning with Chamila on stage 1 of the Pekoe Trail. Chamila is knowledgeable about all the plants and the animals of the area. He’s personable and great company for walking/hiking.
